Minecraft error in windows 8: "failed to find an accelerated OpenGL mode"

OpenGL mode error from Minecraft

I got this error from minecraft after I upgraded to windows 8. The fix is simple: install the windows 7 driver in windows 8.

My video card is an onboard ATI Radeon HD 4200.

download the driver:
http://support.amd.com/en-us/download

Select as shown:

The for me the file was:
13-9-legacy_vista_win7_64_dd_ccc_whql.exe

use 7zip to extract the contents:

I extracted the contents into:
C:\temp\13-9-legacy_vista_win7_64_dd_ccc_whql

Installing the driver:
start/run/  (or windows key-R)
devmgmt.msc

Right click on the display adapter branch and select update driver software

7. scroll down and select ATI Radeon HD 4200

Next, next. The windows 7 driver will be installed in windows 8.
